Warm mix asphalt is a new "Green Technology," that Pitlik & Wick has recently started producing. WMA is produced at a lower temperature than conventional hot mix asphalt. As a result, less oil is needed to heat the warm mix asphalt and less emissions are produced. Warm mix asphalt can also be used with other "Green Technologies," including RAP, waste oil, and recycled shingles, further reducing waste and promoting environmental responsibility.
Other benefits to the use of warm mix asphalt include better compaction on roads, the ability to haul paving mix for longer distances, and extending the paving season by being able to pave at lower temperatures.
